THAT SECRET AGENT LOOK (continued)

THE LOOK: A mischievous gamine with European flair. This outfit is as practical as it is smart, providing ample protection from chilly North Sea winds. So whether she is walking the canals of Amsterdam in search of an interesting museum or a treacherous Russian trawler (as in "The Warm Fish Affair"), Kitty does not need any "Dutch courage" to keep herself warm!
THE OUTFIT: Slim blue jeans topped with a streamlined leather jacket combine no-nonsense sturdiness with feminine contours. Black ankle boots (not shown) complete the sporty yet provocative look. Jeans by Fleur de Lis; jacket by Le Coche.
THE HAIRDO: The Dutch Boy is a carefree, easy-to-manage style. Hair is blunt cut to chin level and curled gently under, bangs are combed straight down over the forehead. This youthful hairdo can be quickly made to "grow up" by gathering the crown hair and pinning it under to form an elegant pouf, as Kitty did when disguising herself as a lady scientist in "The Warm Fish Affair."
THE LOOK: Classic spy chic...or perhaps just an ordinary cosmopolitan working girl meeting her gentleman friend for lunch at the United Nations.

THE OUTFIT: The demure trench coat protects Kitty from more than just a Manhattan drizzle; it features a removable bulletproof lining. Once she is inside the U.N. building, a convenient sewn-in shoulder holster allows Kitty to doff both coat and gun without drawing unwanted attention to herself. Her lovely coat-dress, on the other hand, draws the sort of attention Kitty does not mind a bit--admiring looks. Lightweight wool in midnight blue is cut in a flattering A-line, set off by a broad white linen collar and shiny agate buttons.

Does Kitty worry about leaving her firearm with the coat-check girl, even though there is a strict rule against guns in the Delegates' Dining Room? Not when she is wearing her special-issue stiletto heels!

THE HAIRDO: The Classic Flip is a winning look for medium-length hair. This 'do is free enough to blow in the wind, yet combs neatly back into place. It gracefully frames the face with a brush of bangs topped with a gentle pouf, ends arc in a wide flip. Set hair on large rollers, tape bangs. Brush hair back briskly in a wide sweep. Tease crown gently. Finger-shape ends in flip to frame shoulders; spray with Jet-Set¨ hair spray. Hairdo can also be worn with a headband (as Kitty is wont to do on The Open Road).
THE LOOK: Slinky, sultry Oriental splendor--Las Vegas style--was the order of the day in the soon-to-be-declassified "Deadly Gamble" case. This ensemble would make Kitty the life of any cocktail party; here she posed as a chanteuse to sort out a nefarious G.R.O.U.T. plot that mixed the grim business of atomic weapons up with the glitter world of casinos.

THE OUTFIT: Matching suit in paisley silk was inspired by those worn by Chinese empresses. The tunic's high collar is studded with large rhinestones: one stone conceals a small camera, another is actually a knock-out pill, yet another is a tiny but very potent smoke bomb. A long, mandarin-style coat and silver low-heeled slippers complete the shimmery, exotic look.

THE HAIRDO: The Sleek Drape is breathtaking in its simplicity, getting added drama from the arched lines of a lightly teased crown. The look is almost straight, but it takes careful setting to achieve it--and above all, expert cutting (once again, Jacques de Ferrazz's artistry is evident). Use very large rollers, roll carefully and smoothly, brush out vigorously.
