The world of espionage holds many secrets, but for glamour-conscious civilians, the only one worth knowing is how certain lady agents always manage to look so enchantingly chic. Whether they are sipping cocktails, cracking safes, or karate-chopping an enemy, these women have enviable flair. Names from both sides of the Cold War immediately come to mind: Emma Peel, "99," Honey West, Natasha Fatale, Pussy Galore. Without a doubt, though, the most imitated femme fatale is that "Debutante of the Demimonde," the T.I.L.E. organization's Kitty du Mont.

Everyone knows The Kitty du Mont Look, yet not even the experts can agree on a definition. "She always looks active and 'mod,' with those signature boots," says one columnist. "She is so elegant, wearing very feminine frocks and suits," says a fashion photographer with equal confidence. "It's the gloves and those fabulous sunglasses" asserts a famous couturier. They cannot all be right, but they are not completely wrong, either. Versatility is part of Kitty's secret. She looks equally natural in casual, mod getups and Society gowns, and often, her clothes must fit several occasions because her work demands readiness for the unexpected.
But just what is it that makes all Kitty's different looks add up to The Look? The answer is simple: her hair, always expertly cut, always neatly styled, always suited to her personality. Once the hair is properly done, the rest of the look falls easily into place. Here Kitty reveals how she achieves various effects, with the indispensible help of her hairdresser, Jacques de Ferrazz. The reader can use these tips to create her own Secret Agent Look.
THE LOOK: Feminine elegance, suitable for sipping cocktails at Cathay 22 or floating across the dance floor at L'Affaire 22. Featured on the World of Tile home page, where we glimpse Kitty and Mr. X "window shopping" for kitchen and bathroom fixtures on their way to an evening of entertainment and intrigue along the "Glittering Mile" of New Jersey's famed Route 22.

THE OUTFIT: This cocktail outfit combines glamour with practicality. The full-skirted, dropped-waist frock allows freedom of movement and the floral design is embroidered with a special Teflon¨ thread that renders Kitty invisible to the infrared security sensors commonly used in the hideouts of evil masterminds. Freedom of movement, indeed! Dress by Belinda Gowns/T.I.L.E. Special Equipment Branch; white velvet evening jacket by Freya of Basel; gloves, handbag and pumps by Hova of Potsylvania.

THE HAIRDO: The Classic Upsweep is the epitome of simple elegance. As for all of Kitty's hairdos, this one begins with a soft brush of bangs to make her lovely eyes look even bigger (her disarmingly innocent eyes have gotten Kitty out of more than one tight corner on tough missions). The hair is pinned at the lower back into a compact French twist, then swirled and draped over crown hair to cover the ends.
THE LOOK: Casual sophistication, ready for action. As seen in the "Catfight" case, where Kitty was pitted against a female wrestler hired by Moco, the evil G.R.O.U.T. henchman. Kitty emerged unruffled and went directly to her luncheon date with Mr. X.

THE OUTFIT: A lithe two-piece suit of stretchy, puncture-resistant Spylon¨ fabric in black and white, accented by a thin silver chain belt and complemented by black spike-heeled ankle boots. The ensemble allows unrestricted movement and the boot heels can be used as weapons. Tunic and pants by Cataluna, boots by Hova of Potsylvania.

THE HAIRDO: The Poufed Flip is a becoming two-tiered style for medium-length hair. The full crown tucks under in the back, keeping hair out of the way while free-swinging sides and back lend soft casualness to the look.
